Dylan is 7!

The Birthday Boy's Cake! Thanks to my awesome mom for saving my butt and ordering it for me- he loved it! He had his party at Classic- he loved the Bounce House

We also did Laser Tag- it was HILARIOUS to see 6 and 7 year olds attempt to Laser Tag!

The Birthday Party Crew- Dylan has darling friends, but all of them were on a massive rush because the party was after school. I was exhausted after!

Dylan blowing out his "7" candle at the family party. Big Dot is in the background, and Gracie is watching.

Dyl getting his Bionicle from Bammy and Big Dot, while Mater watches. I know, we don't call anyone by a normal name in this family!

Dyl holding up his deposit slip from Nonnie and Pop.

I can't believe my cute little, well he isn't little anymore, boy is now 7! Love you Dude!

A sad excuse of a Christmas this year

Not even close to done shopping, and my house is a disaster (my mom with vouch for this). We are finishing our basement, and totally out of storage space. I am sure anyone who stops by thinks we are going on a major vacation because all of our luggage is upstairs, but there is nowhere else to put it! My laundry room is in the process of being put back together after one set of cabinets came crashing, yes I said crashing down. Luckily nothing major was broken, just left a fun mess to clean up. I am so looking forward to having a basement, and some space to store and have some organization in my crazy life! Would you believe that I only have 2 presents under the tree right now- how pathetic! They are for my nieces, not even for my own kids! Better get on that...the tree is up at least. Doesn't look great, but it is up, standing, and the majority of the lights are on that I can tell. Jayden, and my little niece Ava had a grand time dancing around it last week in fairy costumes!

So, I was tagged forever ago, thanks to my sister-in-law Lisa. I had the best of a blogger's intentions to do it, but well, you know, I just didn't get quite around to it. So, catching up on the blogging, here it goes.

Girls Night Out - Post from the Past

I just realized that I had this picture, and I was with some of this cute girls over the weekend. This is from a girls night months ago, when my friend Kim moved, and ditched us for warmer weather in St. George. I am very jealous of her right now, since we have a foot of snow and it is so cold! We had a blast at P.F. Chang's, and I definitely recommend the dessert sampler- shot glasses of all of the desserts on the menu that you can pass around. All of this in this picture are crazy enough to coach, have coached, or be involved with drill team.

(Me, Kim, Nikki, Jenn, Mechelle, and Brenda)

Christmas is next week?!

So I am a blogger slacker. I have been so busy the past few weeks with drill team (it is competition season) that I have neglected my blogging duties! I will never live up to any of you, but I guess I will keep doing this, because at least it saves me from having to send out the dreaded "Christmas Letter" trying to catch everyone up on the last year. So, as I logged on today, I saw my countdown. 9 days til Christmas?! Does Google allow profanity? I am dying. I really am so behind this year. Luckily, my parents are awesome enough to throw a Christmas Party for all the Grandkids on Saturday night, and hopefully Kris and I can go finish up.

So, over the weekend, my drill girls competed in a competition at Jordan High, and took 1st place in Military and Dance! I am so proud of them! They are such great girls, and I am so lucky to work with such talented athletes- yes, drill is a sport!! (The top picture is one of my team at the premiere of Twilight- I took the team to see it). At the competition, I talked to Terri Hall, who coaches Davis. I haven't seen her kids in a few years, and they are close to Dylan and Jayden's ages. I saw them, and they were so big! That made me realize, my kids are getting big! Dylan turned 7, yes I said 7, yesterday. He is a big 1st grader that is so into legos, PSP, Spiderman, and is an incredible reader. He just finished up his basketball season (see above, #24), and finally got the confidence this year to start dribbling and shooting the ball during the game. He scored a bunch of baskets this season, and made Kris pay him $1 a shot! Jayden is 3 1/2, and marches to her own drum. She has all my "looks" down (see above), and can shoot them back at me anytime. She loves to dance, play babies, kitchen, and even play Iron Man with Dylan.
Well, tomorrow is Dylan's friend party, and I have about a billion things to do. If anyone wants to help supervise a bundle of 7 year olds laser tagging, you are more than welcome to come. Somehow I doubt anyone will respond with enthusiasm.

Kené Kupono

Finally! I have a picture of my cousin's baby! This is little Kené Kupono, the cutest little stinker on the planet! He is getting so big! He was born on July 30th. For those of you who don't know, he is Shane and Tiana's little boy, and he looks just like his daddy! Look at that smile!

And and winner is...NOT BYU!

Living in an overly populated BYU area, and having lame BYU loving family members, I have to relish in the fact that BYU lost. Ha! Kris and I are both U of U alum, Kris being a double alum because he went to S.J. Quinney Law School at the U. It was just hilarious to see our neighbor, driving around singing, "Rise and shout! The Cougars are out!" He played that on a sound system for hours until the game began. Insert foot in mouth now Chris Hansen. Go UTES!

Little kids, big helmets

(Jayden, Ava)

(Dylan, Grace, Jayden, Ava)
I found some pictures that I hadn't done anything yet that I just love. These are my two kids, along with my darling nieces, Grace and Ava. They are Brett, my older brother, and his wife Lisa's. These were taken at our family cabin. The top picture is just of Jayden and Ava, who seem to look more like sisters than cousins, according to most people, and same with Dylan and Grace.
**On a random note that has nothing to do with the photos, just with the helmets, a little boy in my neighborhood wasn't wearing a helmet and was in a severe scooter accident. He had a major concusion, some brain damage, memory loss, and is suffering from seizures. Please have your kids wear helmets, always!!

Sorry about the early Christmas countdown

Yes, I have posted a Christmas countdown. I know, I am an idiot. But, I have not started Christmas shopping, and I figure this is the best way to remind me to get with the program. It is starting to annoy me, and it has been about 30 seconds, that it doesn't match the page. But, I also refuse to change the page even one day before Thanksgiving, and that is if I change it at all. Thanksgiving is in a week! Seriously, is anyone even ready for this???

Mourning the loss of hair

Having a little girl, I had always hoped to have her have long beautiful hair. I took Jayden for a haircut last night, and the lady told me I had to get rid of her locks if I want it to grow. No more piggies or ponies. I am sad! So here is a pic from summer- IT WAS A DADDY DAY, but I will still miss doing the fun up dos! She was helping Dad mow the lawn, so she had her weed wacking goggles on!

Kenz at Homecoming

I am posting this for anyone who remembers my "little"sister. McKenzie is now a junior at Viewmont! They just had Homecoming, and she looked beautiful! Kenz, unlike my mom and I, is an itty bitty little thing, even with heels, she is a lot shorter than her date!

Halloween

Halloween was a success. Kids got more candy than they could eat, and wanted to keep going until way too late. Sleeping Beauty only lasted about 3 houses, then the wig came off. Oh well. She just kept saying, "I'm so pretty, right Mom?". We are just happy she learning to say Sleeping Beauty in time for Halloween. First she was telling everyone she was being "Stinky Booty" then it was "Seepy Booty"- either way, it wasn't good to tell each house who asked what she was.

Witch Party

Ok, so I am a blogging loser. I admit it. Mandy, if you read this, I will never live up to your 20+ posts a week. My camera cord has been missing for who knows how long, and I have just posted one post since I even started the blog. Maybe I will be better- likely not. Anyway, here are some pictures of the Gardner Village Witch Party we went to over UEA. Dylan and Jayden had a blast. Dylan thought he was the star of the show because all of the boys there wanted to be Iron Man. Jayden just danced around in her witch outfit. I just wanted to go to Archibald's, but there was a 2 hour wait- for lunch! At least the kids had a good time.

I said I would never blog...

I can't believe I have resorted to blogging, but here we are. I am just getting used to this, so hopefully I can become a pro blogger to keep everyone updated on what is going on with our family. As for now, here is a current picture of Dylan, 6, and Jayden 3. Hope you all are enjoying your summer- I don't feel like mine really has started, and I have to report back to the high school in 1 1/2 weeks for teaching!
